Verdict

The American Apparel 2001 shirt is a great option 100% Jersey Cotton blank. It is easier to print than the cvc counterpart. This is a nice blank that fits like a standard tee. This is one of my go to blanks because i like the way it fits. The material is great quality, but has a fuzzy layer that is a little less smooth than other garments. Since it is a little more affordable overall you might find this as a good value. This blank is manufactured in a similar way as other mid to higher end brands. It also has tear-away labels for easy rebranding. This is a good choice for people that are on a budget but need to have an elevated blank.

Print Verdict

This shirt requires a little extra care when printing. We suggest a smoothing screen or hot-iron, after the base layer to ensure the print lays flat for a softer hand. The fibers have a tendency to stick up through the print if this step is not done.

Also, some of these blanks can be over-dyed and be heat sensitive so watching cure temps and cure times is essential when printing this fabric.

When following these precautions a smooth print is easily achievable.
